The School of Intellectual Property of Jiangsu University was established in May 2020 and is the second independent intellectual property school in Jiangsu Province. It has 2 provincial scientific research platforms, Jiangsu Intellectual Property Research Center and the Institute of New Structural Economics & Intellectual Property and 3 national service platforms, Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC), National Intellectual Property (Jiangsu) Training Base and National Pilot Project for Patent Operation.
At present, the school enrolls master's students in the field of intellectual property in business Administration, Management Science and Engineering, Library information and Archives Management, Law, Master's degree in Law, Master's degree in Business Administration and Master's degree in Information, and enrolls doctoral students in management science and engineering. In 2014, the school began to recruit students with engineering background (minor in intellectual property Management) to create a training mode for inter-disciplinary talents and set up micro courses to recruit undergraduates majoring in "Intellectual Property" and "New Structural Economics" in 2020.
In terms of social talent training, the school mainly promotes the "online + offline" course teaching mode, and has completed a series of projects such as Enterprise Intellectual Property Management Standard Implementation Training, Enterprise Intellectual Property Director Training, Patent Value Practice Training and Intellectual Property Transformation and Application Talent Training. In addition, the school has also presided over a number of major talent research projects, such as the Curriculum Design of the 13th Five-year Plan for National Intellectual Property Talents, the 14th Five-year Plan for National Intellectual Property Talents, and the Research on the Educational Carrier of Intellectual Property Professional Degree, and compiled a series of textbooks, such as Intellectual Property Management Norms - Training Course. So far, the school has provided more than 100 training courses for more than 20 provinces and cities, with more than 10,000 people trained.
The school has formed a team of teachers with multidisciplinary backgrounds including law, management, economics and engineering. Among them, there are more than 100 full-time researchers and 20 foreign experts. The school offers four distinctive research directions, including Enterprise Intellectual Property Management, New Structural Economics and Intellectual Property, Industrial Intellectual Property Development, and Intellectual Property Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The school has undertaken 9 national projects, more than 60 provincial projects and 100 projects entrusted by enterprises. It has published 9 intellectual property monographs, more than 60 Chinese papers and 20 SSCI and SCI papers. Its research achievements have won more than 1 0 national or provincial awards.
The school has participated in the formulation of more than 10 national standards, local standards and industry standards. It also takes the lead in high-value patent research in China, and has set up a high-value patent cultivation center in the field of intelligent agricultural machinery in Jiangsu University.
