On September 25, 2020, Jiangsu University was officially approved as a Technology and Innovation Center (TISC) by the World Intellectual Property Organization, becoming one of the third batch of 34 officially operating units established by TISC in China. The School of Intellectual Property at Jiangsu University was officially established as the central operating entity in May 2020, and is the second independent intellectual property college in Jiangsu Province. The center relies on the Institute of Intellectual Property and is based on the influential Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Research Center. Adhering to the unique development model of "integration of intellectual property, industry, academia, research and application" in China, it coordinates two provincial-level research platforms, Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Research Center and Yangtze River Delta New Structure Economics Intellectual Property Research Institute, as well as two national level service platforms, National Intellectual Property (Jiangsu) Training Base and National Patent Operation Pilot - Huizhi Intellectual Property Service Co., Ltd. It actively carries out theoretical innovation, think tank research, characteristic talent cultivation, high-level social services, and high-level international exchanges to meet the strategic needs of Jiangsu Province and the country.

Based on business needs, the center has formed a management and service team consisting of functional modules such as technical management, equipment management, patent retrieval, patent analysis, and intellectual property training, totaling 50 people. Among them, 15 have a doctoral degree and 20 have a master's degree; 15 patent agents and 2 lawyers; One national intellectual property leading talent, one national top 100 intellectual property high-level talent, and six Jiangsu province intellectual property leading talents.

The center is committed to providing intellectual property information services, led by the government and based on market demand, to create characteristic services for intellectual property standardization. It has established a comprehensive intellectual property standardization work system for standard planning, standard formulation, verification and promotion, and has participated in the formulation of more than 10 national standards, local standards, and industry standards, becoming a leading domestic and internationally influential research base in the field of knowledge management standards. With the support of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office, we have taken the lead in conducting systematic research on high-value patents nationwide. We have established a high-value patent cultivation center in the field of intelligent agricultural machinery at our university, exploring the establishment of a new model of university industry university research centered on high-value patents.
