One patent of Our University Wins National Award

Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) announced the winners of the 21st China Patent Award. One patent of our university wins the silver award. The award-winning patent was invented by Shouqi Yuan’s team of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, Jiangsu University.

Shouqi Yuan’s team has been engaged in the research of fluid machinery and engineering for a long time. In view of the limitations of the existing cavitation monitoring technology, such as low diagnostic accuracy, low system reliability and difficulty in popularization, etc., Yuan’s team improved the accuracy of cavitation monitoring and realized the accurate diagnosis of centrifugal pump cavitation state by collecting motor stator current and adopting the multi-dimensional evaluation index analysis system of “singular value decomposition, Hilbert-Huang transform and first-order IMF effective value”. The technology has the characteristics of high precision, wide application range and low price. It not only improves the operation reliability and prolongs the operation life of the pump, but also improves the core competitiveness of the pump products. It plays an important role in promoting the energy conservation and emission reduction of the pump industry and the transformation and upgrading of the products in China.

At present, the patented technology has formed a series of characteristic pump products, and has been implemented in Zhejiang Leo Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Shuanglun Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Taifeng Pump Industry Co., Ltd., Shanghai Liancheng Co., Ltd., Shanghai Dongfang Pump Industry Co., Ltd., etc. In the past two years, 630 thousand sets of patented technology related products have been sold, with a market share of more than 60%, and the new sales volume was 12.5 billion yuan.

In addition to the field of environmental protection and industrial process, the patented technology can also be applied in the fields of automobile, energy, aerospace, ocean engineering, water conservancy engineering and other fields with high requirements for pump cavitation performance. The patented technology has broad market application prospects. Yuan's team has built a series of patent portfolio around core patents, forming a patent pool covering cavitation experiment test technology, cavitation performance optimization technology, cavitation prediction and utilization technology, and operation condition monitoring technology.

In recent years, we have innovated the intellectual property management system, carried out the cultivation and operation of high-value patents, and focused on mining a number of high-value patent portfolio with advanced technology, strong market control, and outstanding economic and social benefits. This year, our university has also set up the School of Intellectual Property and the Institute of New Structural Economics and Intellectual Property, which will further deepen the development mode of "integration of creation, teaching, research and exploitation of intellectual property", accelerate the integration of intellectual property with economy and industry, and also strongly support the construction of our university with high level, distinctive features and internationalization.
