On September 9, 2020, the 1st New Structural Economics and Intellectual Property Forum and the unveiling of School of Intellectual Property were held in our university. Lin Yifu, President of the Institute of New Structural Economics of Peking University, was employed as an honorary professor of the University and gave the first lecture for the micro speciality of new structural economics.
This activity is sponsored by Jiangsu University, supported by Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office, and undertaken by School of Intellectual Property of Jiangsu University, Institute of New Structural Economics and Intellectual Property, and Institute of New Structural Economics of Peking University. Ma Minglong, Secretary of Zhenjiang municipal Party committee, Ma Fang, Inspector of Personnel Department of National Intellectual Property Administration of China, Zhi Suping, Director of Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office, Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the Party committee of Jiangsu University, Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University and many experts and scholars gathered in the Forum to share wisdom and jointly plan a new pattern of new structural economics and intellectual property discipline development in the new era.
Lin Yifu, Ma Minglong, Zhi Suping and Yuan Shouqi jointly inaugurated the School of Intellectual Property. Ma Minglong, Ma Fang, Zhi Suping and Yan Xiaohong delivered speeches respectively. In his speech, Yan Xiaohong said that holding the 1st New Structural Economics and Intellectual Property Forum and unveiling the School of Intellectual Property is a new practice to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directive spirit in the Forum on Promoting the Integrated Development of Yangtze River Delta and the Expert Forum on Economic and Social Fields. The sharing and integration of new knowledge and new ideas will promote the cross integration of new structural economics and intellectual property, and will have an important impact on the development of new research fields.
In the first lecture of micro speciality of new structural economics, focusing on the theme of "China's economy under the new development pattern", Lin Yifu clarified that China is the most stable and fastest-growing economy in the world, and pointed out the main factors restricting China's economic development. He also proposed that strengthening the domestic and foreign dual circulation can promote China's economic development; then, he expounded the opportunity of new structural economics.
Lin pointed out that in the past, we paid more attention to western economic theory, but in fact, we need to develop our own economic theory according to China's national conditions. Thus, the theory of new structural economics came into being. Lin earnestly hopes that students will contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through the systematic study of the theory of new structural economics.
