Recently, the 2025 Workshop on National Intellectual Property Power Construction, sponsored by the Office of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on National Intellectual Property Power Construction and undertaken by the National Intellectual Property Training Base (Jiangsu University), was held in Zhenjiang. Chen Dan, Vice Minister of the National Intellectual Property Administration, Li Jie, Director of the Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office, Li Hongbo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, and Yin Weimin, Vice Mayor of the Zhenjiang Municipal People's Government, attended the event. Zhao Zhibin, Deputy Director of the Office of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on National Intellectual Property Power Construction, presided over the opening ceremony. More than 100 responsible comrades from the Joint Conference Office, relevant units of the Joint Conference, relevant departments of the National Intellectual Property Administration, and office of local intellectual property work coordination mechanisms participated in the training.

At the opening ceremony, Secretary Li Hongbo introduced Jiangsu University's school-running history, disciplinary advantages, and the development of building a high-level university with distinctive features, especially the rapid progress made in talent cultivation and technological innovation. Adhering to the characteristic development model of "integration of industry, academia, research and application" for intellectual property, the university has established an integrated talent cultivation system covering undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs in intellectual property. It has supported the high-level development of the agricultural machinery discipline through the cultivation of high-value patents, and ranks among the top universities in China in terms of the China Patent Award and patent transformation. Vice Minister Chen Dan encouraged the participants to take the summary of the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan as a new starting point, and serve as "pioneers" for innovation breakthroughs, "escorts" for strict protection, and "interpreters" for value transformation in the construction of an intellectual property power during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. He urged them to apply the learning outcomes from the workshop to their work and jointly promote new achievements in the construction of a national intellectual property power.

This workshop brought together leaders and experts in the field of intellectual property nationwide, and invited experts from the Jiangsu Intellectual Property Office, the Science and Technology Development Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, University of International Business and Economics, Jiangsu University, and Peking University to give lectures. With profound professional knowledge and rich practical experience, the lecturing experts delivered a series of wonderful lectures to the participants. Through training, exchanges and discussions, ideas were sparked, innovation inspirations were stimulated, experiences were summarized collectively, challenges and opportunities faced by intellectual property in the new era were explored, and new paths for high-quality development were jointly planned. This initiative aims to accelerate the construction of a national intellectual property power and make greater contributions to advancing Chinese modernization through intellectual property.
