The first Report on Intellectual Property Development in Key Cities in the Yangtze River Delta Region was released


 

 

On April 20, the launching ceremony of the 2023 National Intellectual Property Publicity Week in Jiangsu Branch and the Yangtze River Delta Intellectual Property Press Conference were held in Suzhou. Tang Heng, Dean of the Intellectual Property School of Jiangsu University and Executive Dean of the Intellectual Property Research Institute of New Structural Economics, released the "Intellectual Property Development Report of Key Cities in the Yangtze River Delta Region", which is the first in China to study the development of intellectual property in the Yangtze River Delta region from the perspective of cities, providing intellectual support for the construction of a new ecology of high-quality development of intellectual property integration in cities and regions in the Yangtze River Delta.

 

The report shows that the comprehensive strength index of intellectual property development in the Yangtze River Delta region is in a leading position in the national average level, and the Yangtze River Delta region has built a new model territory of the regional intellectual property integrated development mechanism with "quantity + quality" as the starting point, and strives to build high-quality development competitiveness and industrial support, forming a good regional intellectual property integrated development ecosystem. In terms of intellectual property competitiveness, Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province are ranked in the four secondary indicators of intellectual property creation, service, protection and talent, while Zhejiang Province performs better than Jiangsu Province in the two secondary indicators of intellectual property application and management. Among the 27 key cities, the top five in IP development competitiveness are Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Hefei. In terms of the support capacity of the intellectual property industry, the development competitiveness of intellectual property rights and the industrial support capacity index of the 27 cities in the Yangtze River Delta show a linear positive correlation distribution, and the scores of the high-end, internationalization and greening index of intellectual property development support industries show a good distribution pattern. In the three secondary indicators of high-end, internationalization and greening, the rankings are Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. Among the 27 key cities, the top five supporting cities for the intellectual property industry are Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hefei.

 

This report is jointly developed by the research team of the School of Intellectual Property of Jiangsu University and the Institute of Intellectual Property of New Structural Economics, which has been committed to regional intellectual property research for a long time, and has undertaken a number of research tasks such as the State Intellectual Property Office and the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office.
