Jiangsu University's PCT patent applications in 2022 ranked fifth among universities in China

Recently, the official website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released the PCT patent applications of the Patent Cooperation Treaty, and the number of PCT patent applications in 2022 is 125, ranking 228th in the total number of PCT applicants, an increase of 98 places compared with 2021, and in the ranking of PCT applicants in educational institutions, our university ranks 15th in the world and fifth in China, setting the best results in the history.

According to the data, the top 10 domestic universities are: Zhejiang University, Suzhou University, Tsinghua University, Jiangnan University, Jiangsu University, Shenzhen University, South China University of Technology, Southeast University, Shandong University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

In recent years, Jiangsu University has adhered to the orientation of patent transformation, and has taken the lead in carrying out pre-application evaluation, high-value patent cultivation, patent hierarchical management, patent division and confirmation, etc., to promote the high-quality development of patents. In the PCT application, our school adheres to the priority of quality, and carries out patent layout for overseas developed countries such as the United States and Europe, and in 2022, 98 overseas invention patents were authorized.
