As the 26th World Intellectual Property Day approaches, the "IP Empowering Emerging Industries" themed day event and the 10th Zhenjiang College Students Intellectual Property Knowledge Competition were grandly held in the university’s auditorium on April 20. The event was hosted by the Zhenjiang Intellectual Property Office and the Communist Youth League Zhenjiang Committee, and organized by the Intellectual Property School of Jiangsu University and the University Youth League Committee. Centered on the theme of "Strengthening IP Protection in Emerging Fields, Accelerating the Development of New Quality Productive Forces," the event focused on the protection and utilization of intellectual property in emerging sectors. It aimed to foster a robust atmosphere of "respecting knowledge, championing innovation, adhering to law, and ensuring fair competition," thereby leveraging IP innovation to empower the development of new quality productive forces.
Li Hong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu University Committee and Vice President of the university, delivered the welcome address. Distinguished guests including Dong Boyan, Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA); Zhang Chuanbo, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office; and Zhai Chunhui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of Zhenjiang Market Supervision Administration and Director of Zhenjiang Intellectual Property Office, attended the event and delivered speeches. Zhao Guanbing, Dean of the Intellectual Property School of Jiangsu University, presided over the ceremony.
During the event, the Intellectual Property School of Jiangsu University launched the "New Knowledge Power" (Xin Zhili) practice brand for IP empowerment in industries. The event showcased typical cases of how "New Knowledge Power" serves emerging industries, highlighting practical achievements in empowering high-quality development in these sectors. Furthermore, eight "New Knowledge Power" promotional ambassadors were appointed, and "Emerging Industry Practice Bases" were awarded to entities such as Jiangsu Leili Motor Co., Ltd., Gusu Laboratory, and PatSnap (Suzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd. Practical mentors for IP professional master's students were also appointed. Representatives from PatSnap, Jiangsu Hengweizhi Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Huizhi Intellectual Property Service Co., Ltd. presented awards to outstanding "New Knowledge Power" faculty and students.
Following the launch ceremony, the 10th Zhenjiang College Students Intellectual Property Knowledge Competition commenced with great enthusiasm. Representative teams from eight institutions of higher learning in Zhenjiang, including Jiangsu University and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, competed on stage, fully demonstrating contemporary college students' excellent IP literacy and enterprising spirit. Expert reviewers provided on-site commentary based on the competition content and awarded prizes to the winning teams.
During the Publicity Week, Jiangsu University will continue to carry out activities such as lectures on typical IP cases. The university will also form "New Knowledge Action" practice teams to conduct in-depth IP awareness campaigns, field research, and symposiums in industrial parks, grassroots communities, and school academies. These efforts aim to promote the achievements of high-quality IP development and protection practices in emerging fields, utilizing the power of intellectual property to serve regional economic high-quality development and the cultivation of new quality productive forces.
