On the morning of July 22nd, Tang Heng, Director of the Jiangsu Province Intellectual Property Center, and Han Kui, Vice Dean of the Intellectual Property College at Jiangsu University, visited the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Center in Nanjing (hereinafter referred to as "IEC Center") for an on-site investigation and exchange. Li Linlin, Deputy Director of the International Standards Department at the IEC Center, accompanied the delegation and facilitated the discussion. The two sides exchanged views extensively on topics including the development of international standards, the cultivation of Standard Essential Patents (SEP), the internationalization of the carbon industry, and the collaboration between industry, academia, and research.
During the meeting, the IEC Center presented the platform's development strategy, core business system, comprehensive standards for energy storage and power generation, training center operations, international conference management, and expert resource integration. The presentation focused on cutting-edge business areas, including the carbon footprint calculation system, international standards for renewable energy assets overseas, SEP (System Engineering Protocol) support services, and the IEC expert recommendation mechanism.
This research effectively established a collaborative channel between university intellectual property offices and national international standards platforms, clarifying a multi-level, practical approach to collaboration. Moving forward, Jiangsu University's Intellectual Property Academy will leverage this exchange to foster consensus among industry, academia, and research, integrating platform, policy, industrial, and think tank resources. By focusing on the deep integration of standardization and intellectual property, the academy aims to support the collaborative development of standardization and intellectual property in Jiangsu Province, contributing to the high-level external opening of the service industry and writing a new chapter in international collaboration.
