On the afternoon of November 24th, the School of Intellectual Property organized the "Wukesong Lecture Hall" on the second floor of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute. Professor Tang Heng, the Dean of the School of Intellectual Property, gave a lecture entitled "Application and Exploration of Intellectual Property for Innovation Chain".

This lecture consists of three parts: the role of intellectual property in the innovation chain, key intellectual property activities in the innovation chain, and intellectual property strategies that support innovation. Tang Heng first starts with the types and characteristics of intellectual property, elaborating on the relationship between intellectual property and innovation, as well as the innovation chain. He focuses on analyzing the role of intellectual property in guiding the development and value return of the innovation chain. Subsequently, she explored the key activities of intellectual property in the innovation chain from four aspects: patent information utilization during the topic selection and establishment stage, patent mining during the research stage, intellectual property protection during the achievement completion stage, and intellectual property application during the achievement transformation stage, from a perspective close to universities. She also provided detailed interpretations of patent mining methods, patent layout, patent protection, and other aspects through case studies. Finally, she used patent operation strategies as a case study to analyze in detail the principles and implementation steps of intellectual property strategies formulated by different entities.

This lecture is one of a series of activities organized by the School of Intellectual Property to implement the spirit of the "Outline for Building a Strong Intellectual Property Country (2021-2035)", stimulate innovation among teachers and students, promote scientific and technological innovation in the school, enhance the comprehensive strength of the school, and support the construction of a first-class high-level university.
